🤔 Frequently Asked Questions

5min

Navigating a contract and forging partnerships is can be scary and confusing. Fortunately, we've done these hundreds of times with great success so we know exactly how it needs to get done.

There are several questions that we commonly get about the entire process of launching a campaign at PitchGround. Here are some of them:

Do I (founder/my team) need to do any work when it comes to the campaign?

There are several things you will need to do to get ready for, and during, a PitchGround launch. Here is a list of them:

  • Read this guide entirely
  • Fill out the "Ideal Customer Profile" form. This form will tell our marketing team everything they need to know about you and your business so they can accurately represent the product in our marketing materials.
  • Participate in product showcase webinars. Here are some live examples.
  • Answer questions inside the "Discussions" tab on your sales page.
  • Answer questions about your product from the community either on Discord or inside our Facebook group.
  • Be available via Slack to aide our team in case there's some information we need from you.
  • Complete the list of To Do's and Deliverables our team will give you.

Now, all of this might look overwhelming. However, you will see that many of these things you should already have done for your business anyway. We're not going to ask you for things that you don't need to do or you would have not already done for your business.

What is the Power Users Program?

PitchGround is made up of an amazing community of Entrepreneurs, Small Business Professionals, and Agencies. The deals that come to PitchGround are selling to a group of individuals who love software and great deals. When a buyer is making a purchasing decision, it helps to get feedback (reviews) from others in the community who have used the tool and have had a positive or negative experience with it. We've created the Power User Program to help new Featured Deals get unbiased, honest feedback/reviews from some of our most influential users within the community. Power Users test the tools before they are released and provide valuable feedback in case any changes are needed prior to launch. Once a product is launched, the Power Users will write a detailed unbiased review of the product that is helpful for other buyers in the community to identify whether they want to buy the product or not. In exchange for their time and effort, Power Users are given a free LTD code by our founders. It's important to note that not all Power User reviews are positive, and when we get negative feedback for a SaaS, it weighs heavily on whether we will even launch them or not. We've found that SaaS which does not have any reviews (or have less than 5 reviews) make 4x fewer sales during the course of their campaign. This is why the Power Users Program is so vital. You will get 10 detailed reviews from trusted members of the community who will endorse your product if it makes the mark.

How do the sales happen?

All sales happen on our website, all transactions happen on PitchGround.com and the buyer will get a code from us. This code will be redeemable on your side, please follow the best practices on creating a registration page found here.

How can I see when sales are made?

You will have access to a dashboard that will have all the analytics of your sales in real-time. This is what it looks like:

How and when do I get paid?

We use Tipalti to automate the payouts for all of our partners. Your sales are considered mature after 60 days have passed which is when the refund period is over, so you will start receiving payouts after 60 days. Then you will be receiving a payout every month until the end of the campaign.

You will get a full payout schedule written into the agreement we sign when we agree to the launch.

How is the sales revenue split? The revenue from each sale is split the following way:

  • 40% of the revenue from each sale goes to you.
  • 60% of the revenue from each sale goes to PitchGround.

Are there any fees? From your 40% of the revenue, you will pay the following fees:

  • Refund processing fees associated with buyers refunding a code purchased from you. These are fees charged by PayPal or Stripe, depending on which payment method the buyer used. If a buyer refunds to a PG Wallet as credit, there will be no refund fees associated with that. Note that this is only the refund fees, not the transaction fees. We will pay all payment transaction fees from our share.
  • Tipalti payout processing fees. These fees are charged per transaction per payment method and are deducted from the amount submitted for payment. Please note these fees are handled by Tipalti and are subject to change.

If you want to get paid in a currency other than United States Dollars (USD) - then you will be subject to foreign exchange fees by Tipalti. This varies depending on your location and currency, so you will get the details directly from Tipalti when you fill out the payout form.

What about income taxes? Tipalti will ask you to fill out a tax form when you sign up to get paid as a partner. All income tax reporting related questions will be answered by Tipalti as you fill out the tax form.

Who do I contact if I have any questions?

After we've agreed to launch, you will be onboarded by our team into a private Slack channel.

You will have a dedicated launch coordinator that will be available to answer any questions you may have about your launch. This person will work closely with you and your team and will be available via Slack and Email.
